Commercial Locksmith Services

Commercial Rekeying

Staff come and go, contractors finish jobs and keys get lost. Rekeying your locks makes every old key useless without replacing the hardware on your doors. It is the quickest way to restore control after turnover, a lost key or a change of tenants, and it can be done on site with minimal disruption to your working day.

Master Key Systems

A master key system lets a manager or owner open every door with one key while employees carry keys that open only the areas they need. We plan the system around how your building is actually used and keep track of which key operates which lock, so adding a door or rekeying a single area later is straightforward.

Lock Repairs for High-Traffic Doors

Commercial doors open and close hundreds of times a day. Worn cylinders, loose levers and latches that no longer catch are more than an annoyance; a door that does not lock properly is an open invitation. We repair and adjust commercial hardware to keep entrances, offices and storage rooms secure.

Business Lockouts

If you cannot get into your shop, office or warehouse, our lockout service gets you inside so you can open on time.

Key Duplication and Key Control

We cut duplicate keys for authorized staff and help you keep an accurate record of who holds what. Good key control is one of the cheapest security measures a business can have.

Safes and Vaults for Business

Cash, checks, deposit bags and records deserve proper protection. We offer safe and vault sales and service, including opening, repairs and combination changes.

How a Master Key System Works

A master key system is built in levels. Each lock has its own individual key, called a change key. A master key sits above a group of locks and can open all of them. Larger buildings can add sub-masters for departments or floors and a top-level key for the owner. A typical small business might set it up like this:

  • Owner key: opens every lock in the building.
  • Manager key: opens the front entrance, offices and stock room.
  • Staff keys: open the employee entrance and their own work area only.
  • Cleaning or maintenance key: opens common areas and utility rooms, but not offices or cash storage.

The result is fewer keys on every ring, less risk when a single key goes missing and a clear picture of who can reach which part of your property.

When Should a Business Rekey?

  • After an employee or manager leaves without returning a key, or on bad terms.
  • When you move into a new space or take over a lease.
  • After a burglary or attempted break-in.
  • When keys have been copied so many times that nobody knows how many exist.
  • When you add a master key system to existing locks.

Key Control Tips for Business Owners

The best lock in the world does little if nobody knows who holds the keys. A few habits keep access under control:

  • Keep a key log. Record every key issued, who has it and the date, and collect keys when people leave.
  • Give access by need. Staff should carry keys only for the doors they actually use. A master key system makes this practical.
  • Limit who can copy keys. Ask about restricted keyways that cannot be duplicated at a hardware counter.
  • Review once a year. Compare your key log with your staff list and rekey any area where keys are unaccounted for.
  • Separate cash and records. Store cash, deposits and sensitive files in a safe or locked room with its own key or combination.

Free Business Security Assessment

Burglars look for weak doors, poor lighting and loose key control. Victory Locksmithing offers businesses a free security assessment: owner Bruce Doolittle completes an in-depth evaluation of your property and its entry points, then gives you a one-page report on its strengths and weaknesses. There are no strings attached.

Commercial Locksmith FAQ

Can you rekey our locks outside normal business hours?

Ask when you call. We will work with you to find a time that keeps disruption to staff and customers as low as possible.

Can a master key system use our existing locks?

Often, yes. Many commercial locks can be rekeyed into a master key system without replacing the hardware. We will check your locks and explain what is possible.

What is key control?

Key control simply means knowing how many keys exist for each lock, who holds them and being able to recover or cancel them. Rekeying, master key systems and restricted keys all support good key control.

Do you also handle the locks at my home?

Yes. We provide residential locksmith services as well, so one locksmith can look after your home and your business.

Which areas do you serve?

We serve businesses throughout Sheboygan County and Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, including Sheboygan, Plymouth, Sheboygan Falls, Manitowoc and Two Rivers. See our home page for the full list.
